What's The Point?
"Nothing is Impossible. The word itself says, I'm Possible." - Travis Salsman
There are no halfhearted Champions in this world. Whether You are a Champion for a Great Philanthropic Cause, a Champion in the olympics, a Champion to Bring Value to Others, or a Champion for Yourself.
For the last several months I have been watching my neighbor ride up and down the street on her bicycle. Back and forth. Back and forth. Night after night. Day after day. Now you are most likely asking Yourself and so? Whats the big deal about this?
Constant Self-Improvement in Our Lives Enlarges Our Lives which intern adds Value to Others Lives. It is many times unforeseen what We Do each day that somehow has an impact on the person standing next to Us. And I don't know about You, but I want to feel like I Am Enlarging the People around Me. That from the smallest thing to the largest thing I Do, somehow is Making a Difference. And We don't always know how much. When We make a Commitment to make Choices that Make Changes, that hopefully take Us beyond Success to a Place of Significance, then that is where the Real Value comes in. And their are no guarantees on how quickly We will accomplish this. I suppose it depends on the level of the Commitment.
The Real test of a Champion is keeping the Commitment in the midst of adversity. Is it enough to just Keep Going no matter how painful it gets. And that gets down to mind over matter. The "Matter" being Your Heart. Because the real test is how large does the hole have to be in order for You to squeeze through? Or, are You Willing to Push through No Matter What?
I have not always had the Attitude that Nothing is Impossible. That has taken years of hard work on Myself to Believe that. But, Today I do. I Do Believe I'm Possible No Matter What.
Only a few days ago I was outside watering my yard and my neighbor who has been riding her bike night after night was watering her yard. I said to her, "You are really enjoying riding Your bicycle." She said, "Yes, I love riding my bike." What I have not told you is she is in her early fifties and She has Learned to ride her bicycle for the first time in her whole life. She moved here from Africa and has always wanted to learn to ride a bicycle. I watched her ride up and down the street, sometimes falling over sideways, running into trees, walkways, hillsides and even sprang Her ankle and walked on crutches for a while. When She got better she was back on that bicycle again. Night after night up and down the street. And recently, She has been riding Her bicycle like Pro. She rides it with such Pride. And She Loves saying hi to everyone as She rides along. While learning to ride that bicycle I watched Her Overcome Great Fear. I watched Her Suffer Pain. I watched her fall and get Back Up numerous times. And I watched Her load her bicycle and Her crutches in her car when She went to ride in the park. And your most likely asking, "How did She ride a bicycle with crutches. I saw Her do it, ever so little, but She did. The Tenacity, Determination, Drive, Commitment, Skill and the Power of the Human Spirit taught Her to not only ride Her bicycle, but, how to Live Life. And She certainly taught Me how to Better Live Mine. She certainly took the word "Impossible" and Changed it to "I'm Possible" every Step of the Way and Taught Me the Difference between Being Successful and Being Significant.
So, "What's the Point"?
The point is,"When We Enlarge Others We Enlarge Ourselves. When We Enlarge Ourselves We Enlarge Others". The point is a Real Champion Believe's in the Value of Pushing Forward no matter how Big or how Small. The point is, when We have the approach to Life that I Promise Myself that I Will Not Quit Because "I", "You" are to Valuable and that We Impact Others even when We do not always See it and that We do have an Impact on the World as a whole, Then and Only Then Do We Become A "Champion". That is "The Point". Until next time. It is a Good Life. We just need to know where to See it.
Your Friend,
Thomas
