Touring India
After touring India for two weeks during the holiday season of 2010–2011, The O’Brien family realized they were in love with the eclectic country. Several cities the O’Briens visited were Mumbai, Jaipur, Udaipur, and New Delhi. The City of Mumbai, located in Maharashtra, buzzes with excitement and is reminiscent of New York City albeit in India and with Indian flare. The city is surrounded completely by water, which only adds to the charm. The Taj Mahal in Agra, India is a common attraction when vacationing to the country, but pictures cannot capture the true beauty of the palace. “Exploring India with my family can be described as nothing else but an adventure,” says one family member.
Attractions to see include the National Gandhi Museum and the Gandhi Memorial Park, both located in the city of New Delhi. Many of the palaces
such as the Amber Fort built in 1592 in Jaipur have an exceptionally amazing elephant ride that a family touring India would not want to miss. The family ended their stay at the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa in South Goa, India. South Goa formally was a Portuguese Colony, and its serene beaches are the perfect way to end one’s stay in the country of India.
