Somewhere between Carrie Bradshaw & Mother Teresa...
It was the nicest compliment I’ve ever received from my husband. And the good news is it happened just last week over dinner. (Trust me- it had little to do with the cooking) “You make me feel alive…” Alive. Awake. Dynamic. Becoming. Not existing. Lifeless. Spiritless. Dull. No one walks down the aisle looking deep into another persons’ eyes hoping to one day soon experience “dull.” Hello…dull happens. I’ve been asked to use this blog to reflect on my professional and personal experiences with relationships and cook up some delicious thoughts that move us towards fresh relationships that say, “I am alive and full of flavor!” Platonic and romantic relationships alike start out flavorful and go flat because they loose their sincerity. Love must be sincere. It’s human nature over time to become more of what we think people want us to be. We women in particular are notorious for being pleasers. To know our thoughts and true feelings and share them is to be sincere. And it’s during that exchange that we find our unique flavor and stay awake (on the inside) through life. Regardless of differing perspectives, when we’re sincere we give ourselves and others respect. So pull up a chair at the dinner table of life…pass the sincerity, please.
